Les trois mousquetaires French Edition Alexandre Dumas pe¿re Books
Of the several digital editions of this French novel, this one was thebest for my purpose. The introduction explained how Dumas
borrowed a library copy of the actual D’Artagnan’s memoirs,
combined the adventures with other events from other histories, changed
the decade of his novel, and invented further events peopled with
historical persons. Dumas never returned the library book, which
turned out itself to be a fabrication, not that Dumas knew or cared.
The notes are good, for they show how extensive Dumas’s background
reading was, and how easily he made a minor incident major, or
distorted an actual person’s motives.

Les trois mousquetaires French Edition Alexandre Dumas pe¿re Books Reviews
Un grand classique...et tout à fait justifié
Easy to get on my and to transport it everywhere. Rapid download to all my connected electronics. And you cannot go wrong with free and in French.
The book arrived without its dust cover. I chose it among other options because it advertised it with a dust cover
The story starts a bit off and not too much believable, but it soon catches up with reader's expectations. This book is funny, intriguing and bitter at the same time. It'll have you skimming through the lines to know what comes next, laughing at times, and feeling quite sad at others. The story itself is as bitter as in others Dumas' works. If you liked Monte-Cristo, you'll love this one as well.
As for the ebook itself, it's missing in chapter navigation, but the overall text formatting is very good and I found it pretty enjoyable on the kindle.
In today's world, you expect that the printed word is generally correct because you expect people to use their spell checkers. Not this time, though. Also it's really big and heavy and the font is one of the less readable ones. Not worth the money.
I was motivated to learn French simply to read this book in its original language. In addition to being a great adventure tale, full of bravado and espionage, Dumas has beautiful turns of phrase. But most importantly, these books hold a Romantic worldview that is sorely lacking in today's world, where the truly heroic and the truly individual are shied away from for fear of embarrassment.
It's a classic so it does not need to be advertised I would say. It's entertaining and it gallops on until the end. Full of subtle or less subtle remarks on human nature and on human types, of course. There are the well known literary gimmicks of sudden changes of perspective and the chivalrous atmosphere of the gallant heroes. The good ones and the bad ones are unmistakably and consistently identified, which is lucky! Unfortunately, very different in real life! Wonderful reading under the summer sunshine but also on an armchair near the fireplace.
